I have been doing patchwork on & off since 1997 when I started making a quilt top out of hexagons, using a design called Grandmother’s Flower Garden. Sadly the GMF was not completed and ended up in the bin (eeeek!!!!!).  Since then I have completed 1 mini quilt (for my very first swap) and 1 single bed sized quilt (though it is really big enough to snugge under on the settee/couch/comfy armchair), and 3 other quilt tops.

I also do cross-stitch, since I was about 11 and saw my mum making a table cloth for our round dining table with a cross-stitched floral wreath in the centre.

Although I do have a really basic (and cheap!) sewing machine, I really do not want to sit behind another machine in the evenings (after 8 hours of sitting in front of a computer in a stressful local government job), so I piece (EPP*), quilt & bind all my quilts by hand. Like most of my friends in the online quilty community, I have become addicted to fabric, so much so that my stash is threatening to take over my bedroom (the stash lives in 2 sets of draws & a laundry bin!).
